In a moment where every second counted, one employee's quick thinking and courageous response made all the difference.
On September 16th, 2025, while mowing at Miami Township West Park, Bobby Chaney took swift and decisive action to assist a fellow team member who was in immediate danger due to a medical incident. Thanks to Bobby’s instinct to act without hesitation, a serious incident was prevented — and a life was potentially saved.
Emergency services were contacted and arrived shortly afterward, but it was Bobby’s intervention during those critical first moments that ensured the colleague received timely aid.
We are incredibly proud of Bobby and grateful for the bravery shown — looking out for one another, acting with integrity, and prioritizing safety above all else.
Miami Township formally recognized Bobby Chaney with a Community Champion Award. In addition, the Public Works team, Wayne Miller, Ryan Hoffman, Jasen Bayer, Damian Walton and John Sanders in addition to Hamilton County Sheriff Deputy, Jason Lyons were presented with Certificates of Recognition for Team Support during November 19th, 2025, Board of Trustees meeting.
This incident serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of safety training, preparedness, and — most of all — the incredible impact that one individual can have in a critical moment.
To Bobby: thank you for your heroic act, your courage under pressure, and your unwavering commitment to your team.
