CPR and First Aid Training

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving emergency procedure used when a person's heart has stopped beating effectively. CPR combines chest compressions and rescue breaths to help maintain blood flow and oxygen to the brain and other vital organs until professional medical care arrives.

When CPR is started quickly by a trained bystander, a person's chances of surviving cardiac arrest can increase significantly. Knowing what to do in the first few minutes of an emergency can make a lifesaving difference.

The Miami Township Fire Department provides CPR and First Aid training for community members and other individuals who want to learn these important lifesaving skills. Training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to respond confidently during a medical emergency.

Our CPR training incorporates the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training device, allowing participants to practice recognizing cardiac arrest and safely using an AED as part of the response.

Whether you are a parent, teacher, coach, caregiver, business owner, or community member, CPR and First Aid training can give you the confidence to act when someone needs help.

Learn Compression-Only CPR

Learn Compression-Only CPR

TAKE10 Cincinnati, powered by UC Health, is a free, 10-minute training designed to educate the community about compression-only CPR, an easy-to-learn technique that can save lives. TAKE10 is compression-only, so there is no mouth-to-mouth.

This program aims to help you build your confidence and focuses on 3 key STEPS:

  1. First, check for responsiveness and normal breathing.

  2. Second, call 911.

  3. Third, compress hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives.

The more people in our community who receive TAKE10 training, the better chance we all have of surviving a sudden cardiac arrest. If you’re interested in setting up a TAKE10 training at your business or community group, please email: publicrelations@miamitownship.org

*TAKE10 does not qualify as a CPR certification course.
