Seasonal Reminder: Keep Leaves and Snow Clear for Community Safety
As fall and winter approach, residents are asked to help keep neighborhood streets and emergency access routes safe by following a few simple seasonal guidelines.
During fall, please keep leaves out of the street.
Leaf piles can create slippery road conditions, narrow roadways, block drainage systems, and contribute to flooding. Avoid blowing leaves into the street, piling them near drains, or obstructing visibility for drivers.
During winter, keep fire hydrants clear of snow and ice.
Remove snow at least three feet around each hydrant and clear a path from the hydrant to the street so firefighters can access it quickly during an emergency.
Residents are also reminded to keep streets clear of parked vehicles and snow piles to help snowplows clear roadways more efficiently.
A little cooperation from everyone helps protect our neighborhoods and keeps emergency services moving when every second counts.
